Hi to everyone,
here is my first post here and I apologize if my spelling is sometime approximative. I am French.
I belong to a French group dedicated to recreating equipement of the end of XIIth century Holy Land, 1186-583.
Until now, we have worked mainly on christian equipements but some of us are working on muslim garb also.
We are also convinced of the importance of the use of horses in reenactment. As I have seen it is important there too, I am sure we can find some good information, even the period mainly studied is far from mine.
The way we make reenactment is not the one of a group ( we are living everywhere in France), it is just a meeting place for friends interested in the same period, place and sharing a common view about how to reenact it.
We try to recreate equipment of a character, documenting from sources the items and trying to give some clues about this work on the website. We try to use the quipment also to check how it could work. But we don't take part to any event as a group or make any shows.
I have also seen many known people here so I should'nt be lost for long.

No. It is XIth century and we should have to make new garb just for the occasion, which should have been too expensive for many of us.
And we plan to take part to a camp at the end of October in France, which will be of our period. So we had to make a choice...
