I'm well on my way to getting most of the kit for this impression, there are two things that I'm really missing and want to know if anyone here knows of a really good maker of historical archer's three fingered glove and a customized archer's bracer of cuir boulli?

Good question. I have made my own bracers using 2 seperate pieces of thick leather, which I copied from a gentleman in Califoria who had the fortune of being let in the Mary Rose Museum after hours and allowed to actually hold some of the longbows found on the M.R. He has based this style off of period paintings and such. So I could make you one if you just want a plain item (I'm not very good with doing patterns and writing on leather yet). I could leave it plain and you could design your own patterns. As for the glove, I've made my own and they work, but all I did was modified a modern leather work glove. The only reason I did that was because I, too, am interested in finding someone who produces them.

historical archer's three fingered glove

Interesting, never heard of that before. For what time? Are there findings?

Maybe you want to ask http://www.pfeilbieten.de/
Example here http://www.pfeilbieten.de/ich/start.php?section=militaerisches

Though I have to add, depending on the period, I would rather use a bone plate riveted on leather strips, such as shown in the luttrell psalter, for example.
The Mary rose findings are 16th...

15th century Flemish Tapestry shows an archer using a three fingered glove. Don't know about any finds specifically.

My scanner isn't setup so I can't scan the image, but if folks have:

Osprey Militray: Warrior Series #11
The English Longbowman 1330-1515

Look on page: 30 (The Zomorra/Zamora Tapestry) Bartlett refers to the glove as a "skeleton" glove as it only covers the three drawing fingers. Apparenly this is not as common as the full leather glove.

I should have mentioned that Karl's shooting gloves have reinforcing pads of leather stitched into the finger tips. The stitching is very fine indeed.

Oh my, just followed the link to Karl's work. Wow, wow, wow...

Confession: I'm a glove collector. I have tons of them, everything from silly colored Wal-Mart wovens to four sets of ACW cavalry gauntlets and ten pairs of modern riding gloves. Now I've found more to scheme into my collection.

I'm sick, I know it. Returning you to your regularly scheduled thread.
