I've just finished a silver 15th century Burgundian signet ring.

That's Margaret of York's motto isn't it?

I believe this ring is for Anne-Marie, her Excellent Baron-ness, or her Baroness the Excellence or something like that.....

yep and I can now say with great confidence that it works great on sealing wax, the fat part of your friends hand and certain foodstuffs.

--Anne-Marie who got to play upperclass girl for a whole day. goodie. all my friends were in the kitchen having fun and I had to sit up in front ......oh well. they let me sweep up at the end, which was very generous of them.....

Anne-Marie:

Is the duck or goose (I'm unsure which) indicative of Hussite origin?

not knowingly
the duck badge is a holdover from SCA armory. SCA name is Anne-Marie l'Amasseuresse (the woman who puts things into piles), and the armory registered with the SCA is three ducks....in a row.

Fortunately, there are lots of examples of birds being used as badges and symbols in 15th century heraldry so I tend to use that rather than the SCA arms, which while cute, are not very authentic...

AM,

Where can I see the "3 Ducks" badge? The name "Bourette" (from my grandmothers side) means "A small group of Ducks" and the livery is: 3 Ducks.
