Very nice and interesting entries here Especially thanks to Matthias and damien for a small glimpse on their connection to the ,ovie business I always wondered why the hell those guys at the studios do not hire lots of reenactors instead of paying lots of bucks for creating totally wrong props for lots of extras. I mean- even the badest groups do have better equipment than we can see in most movies. Kingdom of Heaven was quite refreshing, unfortunarly I did not like the movie, i think it was boring- still the equipment, though looking better than in most movies- was sometimes severeal hundred years out of scope. -------------------- Diu Minnezīt Reconstruction of textiles, armour and daily life 1250,1350,1475 Nuremberg and Paris http://www.diu-minnezit.de IG Meisterhauw Reconstruction of late medieval and early renaissance fencing techniques http://www.meisterhauw.de Nuremberg in the middle ages http://www.nuernberg-im-mittelalter.de

OMG, I loved "By the Sword Divided." That's what got me into ECW re-enactment. The clothes were great and the underlings were appropriately grubby!I have an ancient set of VHS tapes of the entire series, I wish they would release it on DVD. It was never even released to video, the ones I have I made -------------------- Dahlin', this can't be real emergency, I only brought one bottle of bourbon and one bottle of Tabasco...

A friend of mine told me they were out on DVD just the other day. As soon as I get back from Chicago, I will be ordering both the first and second series. My S.O. made me promise not to buy them until I come home with grooming money from the horse show this weekend. The link was awesome! I loved the seige, it seemed so beautifully down and dirty accurate. ECW in the US is a strange bird, but I really enjoy it...in spite of the constant complaints I get about the money I spend on yet another of my strange hobbies, LOL. -------------------- Dahlin', this can't be real emergency, I only brought one bottle of bourbon and one bottle of Tabasco...

Yeah...Makes ya wonder, huh? That would certainly be a breath of fresh air from Hollywood, but, alas, Hollywood is "cheap" and would rather spend the bazillions on their one or two "Super Stars" so they can cavort around for reading a script and demand we take them seriously (esspecially when they start whining and moaning about the Government or something silly). :P although with the case of HBO's "ROME", they're getting ever so closer, one slow step at a time, in terms of attempting to be accurate and consistent about it. So perhaps there is hope. And yeah it would be nice if Reenactors got hired more often, including airfare and accomodations and all...Oh but then Cruise needs another ridiculously expensive sports car. -------------------- Andy V.
