This book about purses a.o. just got published. It was written by Olaf Goubitz, the retired Dutch archaeological leather expert who also wrote Stepping Through Time (aka the shoe-bible). Alas he died half a year a ago.
Anyway, I have not yet bought it myself (my birthday is coming up though , but it seems rather promising knowing the author and title:

GOUBITZ, OLAF. Purses in Pieces: Archaeological finds of late medieval and 16th-century leather purses, pouches, bags and cases in the Netherlands. Zwolle, Stichting Promotie Archeologie, 2007. With 212 text-figures. Stiff wrappers. 118 pp.
EUR 24.50

Hi Jens,

Halos has an english version of its website as well. Click Home and then in the main frame there is a link to English.
In the Who are we part there is a link to the Conditions of sale within which you can find this tidbit of info about payment:

Payment
Payment by VISA or Mastercard is welcome. Customers within the EU may pay direct into our Dutch bank account free of charge using our international bank account number (IBAN). Customers in Belgium and Germany are welcome to make payments into our Belgian and German bank accounts respectively.

Never mind my birthday, I am getting it as a gift for Sinterklaas! (evening of 5th december feast of Saint Nicholas, the older equivalent of Santa Claus in the Netherlands)
