I was asked to post this on behalf of the organizer . Sry for it beeing a bit late computer problems.INVITATION TO THE FOURTH REGIMENTAL CAMP
We hereby formally invite you to our 15th century re-enactment weekend. On June 6 and 7, 2009, workshops and training sessions will be held on Les Terres de Bénélos. It will be possible for you to arrive on Friday the 5th. The training location includes an Inn, a village, manoeuvring grounds for foot soldiers and horsemen, a forest and various paths within it.
This year, the event will be help in the spirit of rigorous re-enacting. More specifically, all vehicles will have to remain outside the limits of the camp and a faithful observance of the historical context will be expected from all. To encourage and enhance immersion, the camp will represent a gathering of troops prior to their deployment within the ranks of a campaigning army.
The mission of the camp is to develop coordination among individuals and between troops in a safe and trusted climate, thereby contributing to create the spirit required to successfully deploy troops and conduct great battles scenarios.
Training, workshops, exercises and improvised scenarios where various units will be required to cooperate are among the means we intend on using to attain the above objective. These activities will be held in a friendly but serious environment, given our purpose. Then, after a hard training day, it is with immense pleasure that we convey you to an evening spent discussing and signing around a good meal!
Gathering 15th century re-enacting troops is also a way to create bonds between groups, to build and share common goals. It is also an occasion to organize common attendance to larger events.
The regimental camp has a military vocation. This invitation is thus extended to all those ready to take part in military engagements, archers, harquebusiers, artillerymen, horsemen and arms men of all trade, as well as those who can make the camp a lively place. Groups are free to act as they please, as long as they observe the field regulations and follow orders given by group commanders during manoeuvres and major activities. Independent arms men are equally welcomed.
Sleeping facilities are available for those who tell us in advance. All groups/attendees will be responsible for their meals. An entry fee of 15$ is asked to cover various expenses.
To this day, the following groups have been invited to the event:
Piquenaires de St- Jean
Compagnons d’armes
Equus
Haquebutiers de Charleville
Archers de Frontenac
In memoriam
Montjoie
Archers de la St-François
Groupe équestre de l'A.M.Q.

Please get in touch with the Piquenaires’ commander for the exact schedule, details about workshops, intergroup battles security measures, field regulations or any other relevant information. Those who wish to attend must make themselves known prior to the camp.
