HEllo!!

We (Les compagnons d'armes) are organising an event the second week-end of July (7-8-9).

It's a kind of meeting for the 5th to 15th century reenactors or groups. There should be a special place for XVth century groups.

You have to keep in mind that it's a new way of doing "medieval" in Quebec... groups are not as historical as the should be... but it's a start.

So you are welcome, the price is 30$ can. the site is super...

Here are the web site adress, www.duchedesaxe.org/valdufort

it's all in french, so if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer you

ps: It is possible to rent a room (real hotel) in the medieval Inn on the site.

Hallo!

Does anyone is interested to participate?

It could be very nice to see you! It's a private event, a nice place to exchange all together. The organisators want to make a little 15th century place. It could be great!

And even if all the info are in french in the Val-du-Fort web site, don't be shy to ask for help or questions.

The dead line is June 2nd.

Hope to see you!
Evelyne

I would like to go as well but it is a very long way for me, too. I am about 4 hours south of Pittsburgh, PA in a little town called Charleston, West Virginia....Quebec is just too far

Tres bien!

Hello, it looks like you had a wonderful event. If I had gone, I could guarantee that you would have had rain and no sun.

Hello!

It was a big success, There will be Val-du-Fort in 2007, around 6 to 8 of july. Unfortunatly, we will not add more days to the event for now, but it is a possibility for 2008. (5 days event)...

I invite you to take a look at some picture at www.duchedesaxe.org/valdufort
in the section photo 2006.

The site is not yet completed for the next edition, but pictures are accessible.

As you will see, there was a big 15th cent. delegation, but a lot of 11 to 13th c. too. And you will find groups that are not really accurates, but it's a beginning!!!!

everbody in Quebec, now understand what could be reenactment. And for those who think that fighting is not reenactment, you will be pleased to know that there were no battle, or fighting except for the tournement of the "FOUR SEASONS". Juste pure manoeuvre, swimming, chating, playing some games...

we held 3 tournements for archery, crossbow and Paume, the tennis-like game.

Hope to see you next year!

and for those you want too get there earlier, it could be a good time to visit Quebec!

ciao

weather wise it was sunny.......very warm in degrees celcius it was 30 to 32 with lots of humidity but on saturday a bit of wind helped sooth us a bit in the shade. No chance of putting on armor in that heat. I must say we could hardly ask for more perfect weather....made the swimming in the river fun.

Hello!

So if you plan to come next year, here are the date: 6 to 8 of july 2007.

There will be a craft contest (rules will come soon)

And the "theme" for 2007 will probably be : From head to toes.

So we're asking people to make some research on head gear, hair cut, and shoes... And to replace theyre combat boot or mocassin, "weird beard cut" etc...etc...

So hope to see you there!

Ciao
