To All,If this forum is going to survive, then a certain decorum must and will be maintained. As people have proven to act uncivil to each other, I will lay out the guidelines for participation on this board.
AD HOMINEM ATTACKS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED There are no exceptions to this rule. Please note that asking a poster for a source or reference for information is not an ad hominem (against the man) attack. People can and do research a topic and can and do draw different conclusions. When someone draws a different conclusion, their opinion ought not be regarded as a personal attack, although they ought be able to explain why they come to that conclusion and provide their references.
SNIDE COMMENTARY OR CATTY BEHAVIOUR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED No matter how many smiley faces one places in a post.
OUT OF ERA COMMENTARY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED Please do not interject information regarding historical details that fall outside of the rather wider than originaly intended range of this board. If topics Viking, Cavalier, or Roman need to be discussed, then there are other boards where the topic can be pursued. The off topic board is obviously immune from this ruling, but let's keep in the spirit this board was intended to operate in.
Three Administrative warnings and you are out - end of subject. At least one person is one warning away from banning. If transgression is made from this point forward, an administrative warning will follow, and the bannings will indeed commence after three.
If we all can't play nice with each other, then this board will either 1. be taken down,. or 2. be made a private board. The original idea was to be a place of contact and sharing for 15th century groups in the US & Europe - it can be narrowed that far again.
Neither I nor Jenn need this horse-hockey. This was intended to be a fun and useful forum, and right now it consists of a source of stress & heartburn.
I would ask that those who wish to participate in the topics this board envisions, and in the spirit this board was conceived remain and participate. I would also ask that if you have no interest in these topics, or do not wish to play according to the rules - go elsewhere.
