*chuckle* as evidence of the ongoing commentary, much of what has been put forward has been said to be "too much" or too little, but I think this might be in relation to horse folks but we hadn't really discussed the non-horse folks. There is a lot that "we" take for granted in regard to our equine playmates. One rule could be something as seemingly minor as "No sudden movements". I think most people would be surprised by a horses flight instinct/reaction speed when a "claw like" hand flashes near their head.
Never swat a horse on the rump when a rider passes you. Never blow a car horn when you approach riders from behind.
Always approach a horse from the front so that they can see you. Talk to them so they can hear where you are. Never approach from behind.
Never feed someone's horse something without their permission. Some have food allergies. (We had a horse at our barn that was allergic to certain grass types).
When offered a carrot or an apple, keep your hand flat, etc...
Are these the types of items that you are thinking about?
