I recently acquired a kettle helm for my late 15th cent impression and I've been toying around with the idea of painting it, just to ad some uniqueness to my kit. The only other group I've found with painted helms is a Swedish group, the Guild of Saint Olaus I'd like to ask them where they got their documentation, but I don't speak Swedish. :-\ Anyone else know of somewhere I might be able to find documentation of painted helms?
Here are some of the ones they have:
helm 1
helm 2

Hi Dustin,

We'll look into it. In the meantime, you can actually contact them. Their web site is in English, so I suspect that someone in their group has a handle on the language or they know someone who does.

Yeah, I ended up sending them a short letter. I found some English-Swedish translation site, probably butchered it, but I included what I was attempting to say underneath it.
