Looking for wool twill in a green and a blue that will be used for the wams and hosen of a landsknechte kit. Any suggestions as to where to buy 5 yds of each other than JoAnn Fabrics(just didnt like the shades they had)? Locale is northeastern Pennsylvania, USA. If you can get down to Philadelphia or Lansdale, check out Jo-Mar (no relation to JoAnns). They have wool, usually at very good prices. Take a match though, so you can do your own burn tests. If you go to the Lansdale store on the right day, there's a woman there who has a couple of degrees in textiles, and really knows her stuff. If that's too far, www.bblackandsons.com is a good online source. Look at their sale page for flannels for about $7/yard. Just a warning, the flannel has been known to blow out in the crotch of 15th c. joined hosen, so you'll want to reinforce it in key areas. Cheers, Charlotte

That www.bblackandsons.com place looks great - I have such difficulty finding thin wool cloth locally!Has anyone seen their gabardine and flannel? Would you recommend them for 15th c. summer clothing? Thanks! Marianne
